Who would have thought 289 days of sobriety is when you completely understand the quote; “GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE. COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN, AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.” Guess that’s normal when you decided to go cold turkey without any sponsors nor meetings, you just have to learn things on your own time. See that quote is from the 30 day sobriety token; unlike people like myself your 30 day realization may not emotional hit you until 259days later. I do believe that it does take a special individual to completely turn their back against their drug of choice. Let’s just say; mentally that drug have to become your worst enemy to the point where there’s only two options: either it’s your freedom of life or fighting to live. Whichever you choose it’s still going to be hard the only difference will be knowing what is best for you to what may harm you. Everyone has their own way of coping with change but accepting that your different is a huge pill to swallow and the way to get through this is with Courage!
